Geological Supervision Project in Minera Los Pelambres
AGE Ltda. carried out a project at the El Mauro Tailings Deposit, of Minera Los Pelambres. The project was aimed at enabling rock piezometers in the tailings drainage sector. For this, a series of tasks were carried out including hydraulic tests to establish the properties of the basement, water sampling for hydrochemical and isotopic analysis, geotechnical tests of unaltered samples collected with Shelby tube and Standard Penetration Tests (SPT). All these antecedents were duly processed and analyzed.
In addition to the aforementioned activities, during the project AGE Ltda. was in charge of the supervision of all drilling, including diamond drilling, to be enabled as Casagrande piezometers (according to current regulations), in the sand wall of the tailings.
The project was completed with total success in the enablement of the geotechnical piezometers in addition to fully complying with the quality and safety standards established by the mining company, for drilling works.
Project Estimation of flows to be pumped from the BSA Lepanto Well
AGE Ltda. carried out a study to estimate flows within the pit of the Lepanto well. The work included the development of a conceptual hydrogeological model, of a preliminary nature, which included the collection of water samples for hydrochemical and isotopic characterization, in accordance with current regulations.
Based on this, a conceptual hydraulic engineering design was then carried out, considering different alternatives for the design of the pit and its pumping system, in order to optimize its exploitation. The work was completed with a detailed legal evaluation of each of the alternatives considered, within the framework of Water Law
